All prices are quoted in Euros and are tax-inclusive.
All monetary and financial transactions between B&W Internships and customers are to be effected in Euros unless otherwise agreed.
B&W Internships shall start acting on behalf of the intern/student to find a suitable placement as soon as he/she has provided the following:
An initial deposit of € 250 is required before B&W Internships undertakes the placement. The deposit is fully refundable, but for € 25 administration fee should B&W Internships fail to provide the applicant with an (hospitality) internship, volunteer position which meets the applicant’s requirements.
The deposit is refundable, minus the administrative fee, if cancellation is made in writing at least 60 days prior to the starting date of the internship and/or language course and before confirmation. B&W Internships is unable to accept verbal notifications.
The following fees are also payable at the time of application:
Express service fee (Australia only)
No refund is given after the start of the internship/ language course except in the case of host company negligence. The applicant may ask to be placed with another organization (at no extra charge) should the following occur:
If the applicant is dismissed from the company due to their English/Chinese level provided the applicant has not misled B&W Internship about their English, Chinese or Spanish level
In the event the applicant requests another placement due to any of the above-mentioned reasons B&W Internships will provide the applicant with an alternative.
Any changes of preferences by applicants (with regard to the internship field) after submitting the application documents to B&W Internships will constitute a new application and attracts full internship fees.
Total fees due are payable within 7 days of confirmation and before the start of the program.
If applicants postpone their start dates of the internship or volunteer program after the placement has been confirmed, a maximum 3 months delay is allowed at no extra cost providing the host company agrees to the postponement. In the event the host company is unable to accommodate the postponement then B&W Internships will be unable to issue any refunds to the applicant.
Applicants may postpone their internship start date within 2 weeks of submitting the application at no extra cost providing the internship has not been confirmed. Otherwise the above points apply.
B&W Internships requires a minimum of 12 weeks notice before it will begin the placement process. The applicant may request express service for Australia which requires a minimum of 6 weeks notice. B&W Internships may require additional notice for specific requests. Applicants will be notified at the time of application.
The express service fee means that applicants are able to request an earlier start date. This fee along with any deposit paid is fully refundable, minus an administrative fee of € 25, if B&W Internships is unable to place the applicant on their requested date (providing the minimum notice period is met). Upon the expiry of the express notice period the applicant may choose to continue using B&W Internships’ services, in which case normal cancellation and refund policies apply.
Refusal by the applicant to be interviewed by phone will not constitute reasonable grounds for a refund.
Refusal by an applicant to accept an internship for reasons not specified in their application will not constitute reasonable grounds for rejecting an internship offer. This will therefore constitute a cancellation by the applicant.
B&W Internships does not guarantee the company size or the exact location of the internship within the requested city. Applicants cannot choose the company. Internships are organized to provide applicants with adequate training and experience in their field of interest. The size, exact location within the requested city or international presence of the company are not valid reasons for a refund or refusing an internship offer.
B&W Internships will match the applicant with an internship in their general requested field (as indicated on their application form any additional forms and during any interviews with B&W Internship staff).
Applicants may not reject a placement offer made by B&W Internships or leave their placement after starting for any of the following reasons:
No refund will be given or an alternative placement offered if the applicant leaves the host company within the initial two weeks. The initial period of two weeks is for settling in and learning about company processes and work ethics (except for reasons outlined under Deposits and Cancellations.)
No alternative placement will be offered to applicants in the event of their being asked to leave by the company for the following reasons:
All applicants must be covered by adequate health and travel insurance before the start of their internship.
In Australia applicants are covered by B&W Internships’ public liability insurance at the workplace.
Public liability insurance only protects the host company in the event of negligence by the company which may damage/injury to the applicant. Applicants require their own medical and travel insurance to cover them for injury or damage caused by themselves to third parties or to themselves whilst at the host company.
In Australia applicants may choose to extend their internships with the host company (upon mutual agreement with the company). B&W Internships and its partners must be notified at least two weeks in advance. Extensions will attract a difference in payment fees (if any). Failure to notify B&W Internships and its partner in the event of extending the internship period will mean that the applicant is not covered by B&W Internships’ public liability insurance policy and will constitute breach of this agreement.
B&W Internships undertakes not to disclose any medical or other private information about applicants that may hinder the applicant’s application.
No refund will be given if the applicant chooses to leave the program earlier than the end date initially outlined in the application.
Applicants must conform to the dress code of the company.
Applicants must keep all information and documents entrusted to them confidential.
Problems should be in the first instance discussed with the supervisor at the company. If the problem is not resolved a B&W Internships representative will then discuss the problem with the coordinator.
Applicants will receive a reference by the company upon completion of the assignment. A certificate of completion will be issued by B&W Internships in the event of the company being unable to furnish the applicant with a certificate.
B&W Internships is in no way responsible for any damage caused by the applicant during the internship and language program, whatever the nature of the damage. The applicant accepts all responsibility personally and cannot be regarded as an employee of B&W Internships.
B&W Internships is unable to guarantee any accommodation bookings unless all accommodation fees are received at least 4 weeks prior to the arrival date of the applicant.
Commuting times to the internship company of up to 1 hour are deemed acceptable.
Changes of accommodation preferences (after submission of application) will be treated as a new application and incur the normal accommodation booking fee.
B&W Internships cannot guarantee the nationality, or spoken language of the housemates.
No changes of accommodation will be made within the initial 4 weeks unless there is an act of negligence on the part of the landlord. Such an act includes sexual harassment, discrimination or other forms of harassment.
No refunds are given in the event applicants leave their accommodation prior to the end of the initial 4 weeks (except in the case of negligence – see above).
Applicants are liable for any damage to property or household articles caused by themselves at their accommodation.
Applicants are liable to pay for any breakages, damage or vandalism caused by them through failure to abide by house rules.
If a bond/key deposit is payable, applicants will be notified on the accommodation confirmation form. Bond is payable by the applicants and is the sole responsibility of applicants.
Applicants not abiding by the house rules will face eviction from the house and B&W Internships will be under no obligation to find alternative accommodation or issue refunds.
